Garden Rooms - Exterior Cladding

Plastic Coated Galvanised Steel

To make our award-winning garden rooms zero maintenance and with a guarantee of up to 30 years, we use a range of plastic coated galvanised steel from an established British company.

This form of metal cladding looks just as great as wood cladding, but the former won't change colour with time and doesn't need to be treated every year to maintain its colour and durability.

Hence why our plastic coated galvanised steel cladding is ZERO maintenance.

Plastic Coated Galvanised Steel

Our plastic coated galvanised steel exterior cladding is included in our Standard Specification...and you have the choice of a variety of colours (see the six sample images below).

We use this as it's very tough, very durable, waterproof, rust proof and will last you a very long time - we guarantee you 30 years (inland) and 25 years (coastal).

So please check them out and then imagine what shade is going to look best on your ELGAR Garden Room!

Wood Composite

Manufactured using a combination of 60% recycled hardwood fibres and 40% recycled plastic, the exterior wood composite cladding we use is low maintenance and insect and rot resistant.

Unlike traditional timber cladding boards, this wood composite does not require staining, varnishing or sanding throughout its lifespan.

And, as the colour pigment is added when it's being made, it retains its original colour and won't need repainting or treating.

Wood Composite Cladding - Style & Fit

Shiplap style cladding has a scalloped top which fits snugly into the rebate of the board below to create a natural shadow line giving an attractive smart look.

The cladding panels click together using a clever interlocking tongue and groove junction with each board that clicks together. They create a neat and uniform finish with no unsightly joining strips.

And they can be fitted both vertically and horizontally.

Softwood Timber

Cedar cladding has is a natural reddish brown colouring as well as a natural durability against fungus and rot.

And, as it's pressure treated, it is guaranteed for 25 years.

But, to maintain its original colour as well as the wood's durability, you have to treat it with a special treatment every year. If not, it turns a dark silvery colour.

Softwood Timber

Larch cladding costs less than red cedar cladding even though it lasts as long. And when it's new it has a light golden brown colour.

And, as it's pressure treated, it is guaranteed for 25 years.

But, to maintain its original colour as well as the wood's durability, you have to treat it with a special treatment every year. If not, it turns a dark silvery colour.

Of course, another option with a wood like larch is to paint it, using an exterior wood paint, to get the exact colour you want.
